Jun 'Sunny' Shen

Artist in Residence 

Shen Jun (Sunny), born in China, danced from high school in 1995. He earned his bachelor degree of dance major at Beijing Capital Normal University in 2005. He attended Beijing Dance/LDTX as a dancer and choreographer after his graduation. In the past several years, he has performed and choreographed many dance works for many worldwide dance festivals and events including Dance Salad Festival, Beijing Dance Festival, Fall For Dance Festival, Busan International Dance Festival, and etc. He has collaborated with many different artists from various kinds of field as well. In addition, he has had rich dance teaching experiences in many educational institutes and dance studios nationally and internationally, such as Virginia Common University, Shanghai Drama Academy, Lines Ballet training Program, Austin Community College, Kunst-stoff Dance. He was invited to join the graduate dance program of UT Austin in 2013, and earned his Master degree of Fine Arts in the May of 2016. Now, he is working at Sansori High School as a movement and Tai-Chi instructor, as well as a modern dance instructor and collaborator with Blue Lapis Light. Meanwhile, he is the artistic director of Shen Jun Movement Effect based Austin area.
