IMPACT HUB is an architectural playground; once indoor pool and racquet ball court, now modern co-working space, it was a Rec Center for the Texas Rangers (law enforcement). IMPACT HUB holds on to a piece of that history incorporating the old pool-tiles into the interior’s main attribute. Lapse takes a glimpse into that history and imagines the hardworking folks that bustle around the space today.
The pulse of the piece reflects the rash dynamics of the leadership, strengths and moments of deterioration throughout the history the Rangers, while still welcoming the undeniably serene nature of the aquatic inspired space. Playing with direction and perspective helps us explore those strategies employed not only by frontiersman but also those hardworking folks that currently use the space. These folks include tech companies, movie makers, designers and more, coming together from all directions all with unique perspective.
