A layered, divergent dance performance, featuring a cast of 9 choreographers, The All-Overs is staged in an intimate clubhouse setting of an East Austin neighborhood batting cage alongside a gallery exhibit of new dance photography, in a double-header art event. It’s not not about baseball.

The space, clad with nets and rusty metal, provokes an engagement with structure, playing across literal and conceptual themes of architecture. Teamed with original music by composer Juliana Sheffield, The All-Overs devises a score for The Physicals vs. The Emotionals, building upon the strategies and logistics of baseball in its choreographic and sonic design.

Rounding the bases, the 30-minute performance happens three times per night. Between each show, four slots are available for audience members to try out their swing in batting practice!

The Gallery Show features the work of five unique photographers, each exploring imagery from a different dance work, past, present, and future, including the popular pieces Elsewhere, Drive-In, and Riverside. The exhibit extends the conversation between choreographer and photographer, capturing fantasies and hauntings. Each photographic encounter invites us to consider how we experience a performance long after the show is over. What changes, what lingers, what do we hold on to?

The gallery is open nightly, with no ticket or reservation needed for entry. Photographs are for sale in-person and online via silent auction, launching online on November 3 and closing with the final performance on November 13 at 9:30 pm.
